Public Prosecution has been awarded OBC Alignment Recognition Certificate for its HQ Building after successfully meeting all approved regulatory and technical construction standards. Designed and completed in accordance with HSE and sustainability requirements, the building reflects a strong commitment to the highest levels of quality and urban development. The headquarters also symbolises the institutional vision of the Supreme Judicial Council, represented by Public Prosecution, in creating a modern and integrated workplace that promotes efficiency, sustainability, and high-quality infrastructure. This achievement contributes to strengthening institutional performance and operational excellence, in line with ongoing efforts toward development and modernization.

His Excellency Nasr Khamis Al Sawaii, Attorney General of the Sultanate of Oman, met with His Excellency Stefan Blättler, Attorney General of Switzerland, in Bern on Thursday, April 30, 2026. The meeting was attended by the accompanying delegation. The two sides discussed a number of matters of mutual interest in judicial and legal affairs, including developments in transnational organized crime and effective methods for combating such crimes and gathering evidence. A joint statement was issued following the meeting, emphasizing the importance of strengthening international cooperation to combat crime—particularly emerging and transnational crimes. The statement also highlighted the value of exchanging expertise, successful experiences, and best practices between the two countries in a manner that supports judicial systems and promotes the swift administration of justice. The program also included a visit to the Supreme Court, where the delegation was briefed on its departments, jurisdictions, and judicial processes. In addition, the delegation was introduced to the role of the Money Laundering Reporting Office Switzerland and its best practices in combating money laundering and terrorist financing. The visit comes to bolster ties of cooperation between the Omani Public Prosecution (OPP) and the Office of Attorney General of Switzerland in the field of criminal investigations especially against transnational crimes.

His Excellency Nasr Khamis Al Sawaii, Attorney General and Vice President of the Arab Association for Prosecutors for the GCC region, participated—along with an accompanying delegation—in the preparatory meeting of the Executive Committee of the Arab Association for Prosecutors, held in Cairo. The two-day meeting, held on April 9–10, 2026, addressed a range of topics of common interest to the Association’s member states.

The OPP concluded the “Takween” Training Program for newly appointed public prosecutors on April 9, 2026. The program was conducted as part of OPP’s ongoing commitment to enhancing the efficiency of national cadres and qualifying them to carry out judicial duties with competence and professionalism. A total of 19 Assistant Public Prosecutors successfully completed the program, which included a series of theoretical and practical components designed to equip participants with the essential knowledge and skills required to perform their duties effectively, uphold the rule of law, and promote the principles of justice.
